Coventry & Warwickshire CSD

A Children’s Service Directory (CSD) which is utilised in a partnership model by Warwickshire County Council and Coventry City Council, and has, or is in the process of being, implemented by numerous other local authorities across England and Wales. This web-based directory can be rapidly accessed by all interested parties, from children and young people, to parents, carers and other professionals. A link is provided from all pages to a comprehensive A-Z listing of services and users can easily search by keyword or browse by service type using simple drop-down menus. In line with DfES requirements, the information can be searched in a wide variety of ways, including:

• By Name (A-Z) – Organisation name, partial name or acronym.
• By Service – A set of services to be searched, compared and contacted.
• By Location – street name, place or postcode within the Local Authority and also surrounding areas.
• Free Text Search - Relevant search terms are used via a free text search box, which will accept single words or phrases. Each entry is given keyword associations that will maximise the relevance of search results.

Further development of the Directory to provide closer integration with the Common Assessment Framework is actively being discussed with ShareCare:CAF and ShareCare:CSD user group members and other local authorities.
